Prior to this class I was not very up to date on any of the social media platforms. I have enjoyed learning about all platforms this semester; however, the ones I enjoyed the most are Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I have used facebook personally; however, learning to use it for a business takes on a new meaning. I like how you can create posts and time them for a later date, as this really saves time if you decide to create a whole weeks worth at one time. I also like how you can create ads to boost your likes and traffic to your website. This really helps with getting your business noticed by others and reaches a greater audience when using the reach tools.
Instagram is a great tool as well to post pictures and tag your friends and places. I have also used this for personal use, but it seem like it could work well for my business too.
I have never used twitter before and I like how you can connect, follow and tweet with so many people and businesses. It seems as people are tweeting more every second than on facebook; however, it is a bit time consuming for my schedule. I feel these are the best platforms for my business and the easiest to use. If I had to pick one for my business it would be facebook. I feel if I focus on t this is something I can utilize daily from my phone when I'm on the go.
In the future I could also incorporate constant contact for newsletters or even holiday greetings; however, this will be after we create more of a following and have managed to create a list of followers to reach out to.
I was also not as familiar with using social media, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc. for business. It's been a learning experience and interesting to find out about so many different social media platforms, tools to strategize, and ways to posts ahead of time. Most of all how time consuming and involved you need to be. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Tricia. I find Facebook for business use really interesting. Like you and WahineBlog, I was not very familiar with other SM platforms. I knew OF the various platforms, but had never used anything other than Facebook (for personal) and for following people on Twitter (sooo rarely used). I found the variety somewhat overwhelming in considering the many options and the time spent managing all of it. I see why it would be necessary to hire someone solely to manage a company's social media.
