Week 5- Facebook Page Components

This weeks assignment is to define the difference between post reach and post engagement.

Why is knowing the difference important?
Also to define the terms, describe how can a business can use Facebook Insights to better serve their customers.

Post Reach: Total Reach is the number of unique people who have seen any content associated with your Page, including ads, during the last 7 days. Post Reach shows the number of unique people who have seen your Page posts.

Post Engagement: People Engaged is the number of unique people who have clicked, liked, commented on or shared your posts during the last 7 days. Likes, Comments, Shares and Post Clicks show the totals for these actions during the last 7 days.

These are different in the since that Post Engagement show how many people took the time to clicked, liked or commented on the post.  Rather than Post Reach only shows how many people saw your post.

Facebook Insights is a pretty powerful tool for those wanting to track user interaction on their Facebook Fan Page. Facebook Insights can be seen by all the admins of your page and it can help you track the number of active users to better understand page performance.

You can use Page Insights to understand how people are engaging with your Page. With Page Insights, you can:
  • View metrics about your Page's performance
  • Learn which posts have the most engagement
  • See data about when your audience is on Facebook
For example, you can look at each of your posts and see which ones have the most likes, comments and shares and the least negative feedback. You can use this information to create more of the types of posts that your audience is interested in seeing. You can also learn about when your audience is on Facebook and publish your posts when you're likely to reach more people.
